LUFUPA LODGE

Kafue National Park - where the Kafue and Lufupa rivers meet

Lufupa is a well-established lodge settled beside the impressive Kafue river. Comprised of spacious, thatched rondavals - with their own en-suite shower, toilet and basin, the camp is informal.

There is a swimming pool for those hot afternoons and the dining area and bar open onto the Kafue river: a perfect setting! Two large communal fires warm you after unforgettable night drives. The southern night sky is something to behold: spend time lying by the fire, gazing at the stars, listening to the night sounds of the bush.

The Kafue and Lufupa rivers are rich in pike, bream, silver barbel and cat fish, hence the attraction for the keen angler.

The river harbours snorting hippos, crocodiles laze on vacant sand bars, and fish eagles soar overhead. Therefore, game viewing by boat, considered a luxury in most parts of the world, is one of the highlights of Lufupa camp.

Nocturnal game viewing drives, by using spot beams, are another highlight: animals rarely seen during the day can be seen at close quarters.
