This lagoon is part
of a network of lagoons in front of Luamfwa and is full of
crocodiles and hippo.
Elephant families
are often seen crossing the lagoon by guests watching from the
comfort of the lounge.
Thornicroft's
giraffe, unique to the Luangwa Valley, is plentiful in this area
with a family of giraffes resident near the lodge.
The lodge has a
dining room, , bar and swimming pool overlooking the lagoon.
The accommodation consists of 8 solid wood chalets, all with
en-suite shower and WC and all overlooking the lagoon
All chalets have lights and electrical points powered by a
generator; however, the generator is switched off at 7pm and
paraffin lamps are used.
Each
chalet has twin beds: extra beds/cots are available on request
for families. One chalets has a double bed.
Water is provided by a borehole and bottled drinking water is on
sale at the bar
Communication to and from the camp and Luamfwa's base radio is
via HF radio Link. A satellite telephone is available for
clients use.
