Kaingo Lodge
Walking Safari
A specialty in the area and the most relaxing way to appreciate the wild and natural beauty of the valley. To ensure your safety an armed scout and a guide will lead you and interpret the fascinating details of bush lore and animal and bird behavior. Nothing can surpass the thrill of big game viewing on foot at close quarters. Walking Safaris were pioneered in the South Luangwa National Park and the vegetation is ideally suited to this type of game viewing.
Game Drives
A comfortable alternative to walking. Open 4WD vehicles with high seats for ease of viewing and photography are used. Our qualified and experienced guides will be able to take you to areas not commonly visited. Wildlife tends to be more at ease when viewed from a vehicle.
Night Drives
Game viewing at night is an unusual experience. With the aid of a powerful spotlight, nocturnal animals such as lion, leopard, porcupine, hyena and civet can be observed. Birds include nightjars, Pel's Fishing Owl and the curious Bathawk.
Mwamba Bush Camp
Kaingo now has a bush camp deep in the heart of the park.
From our camps over 300 bird species have been recorded ; seasonal highlights include the spectacular carmine bee-eater colony, celebrated fishing parties and amazing quelea displays.
