Kaingo Lodge

Kaingo is a small, exclusive camp, deep within the South Luangwa National Park. This camp is renowned for excellent game sightings, particularly leopard. As the number of guests is limited to ten, you will enjoy a personalized and exclusive safari.

The Camp
Kaingo consists of five comfortable thatched chalets, each with its own bathroom and a view of the river. All windows are screened and mosquito nets are provided. On the banks of the river is a large "chitenge", a thatched open-sided dining room/lounge, and a platform, built out over the water, both for easy viewing of animals coming down to drink.

Upstream from the camp is a resident herd of hippopotamus. There is a hide for those wishing to photograph and observe these and other animals closely.

Catering is of a high standard and meals are prepared in our rustic kitchen with modern amenities. There is a well stocked bar. Safe drinking water is drawn from a borehole. Solar power is used to provide lighting, thus preserving the tranquility of the African night.
